Stranger in a Strange Land / by Nigel Rumsey

Stranger in a Strange Land One of the many great things about the group of photographers who inhabit the Filmwasters forum is the regular collaborations where members are invited to submit an image inspired by a common theme. This is my submission for the collaboration of the same name.

This is another from the roll of exposed film I had in a drawer since 2010. I don't know why but it kept getting pushed to the back of the processing queue. When I did finally got around to developing it, I took the film from the tank and experienced that stomach sinking feeling, the negs are so thin there's almost nothing there. I hadn't used the Rodinal for a similarly long time and it has obviously died. However, there is this shot. I have no idea who this woman is or where I took it. She genuinely is a Stranger in a Strange Land.
